Fahmi Alqhai & Patricia Guerrero
Paraíso Perdido
Paraíso Perdido is a performance that brings together the flamenco dancer Patricia Guerrero and the viola da gamba player Fahmi Alqhai in a dialogue between contemporary flamenco and Baroque music.
The work stands out for its focus on the connections between different musical traditions, linking historical sounds with contemporary forms from a shared perspective.
At the heart of the piece is the interplay between dance and the viola da gamba, exploring 17th-century forms and their relationship with Spanish folk tradition and flamenco. Far from separating them, the show demonstrates how these languages intersect and transform, offering a journey through memory and musical heritage that views tradition as something alive and constantly being reinterpreted.
