In Tierra de Hombres, Esther Merino brings the flamenco traditions of Extremadura to the fore, a region to which her artistic career is deeply rooted.

The piece revolves around the voice, stage presence and dialogue with four male performers, offering a reflection on the place of women, resistance and artistic authority in contemporary flamenco.

Her repertoire spans styles such as Extremaduran tangos and jaleos, alongside soleá, siguiriya, bulerías and cantes de mina, placing the sounds of Extremadura in dialogue with a broader flamenco language.

All performances at Sadler’s Wells Theatre are presented by Sadler’s Wells Theatre in collaboration with Flamenco Festival.
